00-9-3, Just like you, same car, a month ago. My A/C clutch began a horrible sound and compressor oil was leaking as well. I bought a whole new compressor from SaabSite for 426.00. It was not a rebuilt and came in a Saab box with the saab name on the unit. My mechanic could not find one for less than 1100.00, so he was impressed. He indicated these compressors were made by Sanden for Saab and a lot of them have been blowing up lately. I needed more than just a clutch. I let him do the work as you can screw things up on A/C DIY without the proper means to evacuate and fill the system. Those tools are big bucks and thats why the labor charges are high.
Beware of Chinese rebuilt units. He said they may last days or years if one is lucky. He was impressed with the quality of the one I got from SaabSite.
