Saab's and Volvo's doesn't really have that problem but it happens that a bad batch of shocks gets out like in the 94-95 year case or the Nivomat rear shocks on the 9000 model.
But all in all, 150-200k mile on original shocks is very possible using the Boge.
The worst part is when you let one of these big chains replacing your shocks and they throw in some domestic ones like Monroe and after that, you are bound for replacement every 30-50K miles.
