This is exactly what just went wrong with my car a few months ago. I dealt with it for quite a while because I couldn't afford a new solenoid. It's pretty fun if you don't pass about 85% throttle, huh. Regardless, these solenoids are a fairly common failure point from what it sounds like reading the other threads on them. A new one is somewhat expensive, but the APC system is a great design and worth keeping on your car if you're not one to do a LOT of tinkering. For now, if you want to eliminate the overboost issue until you can get the new valve, you can set the turbocharger back to base boost (7ish psi) by switching two of the hoses on the solenoid. You need to switch the hose that goes to the low pressure side of the turbocharger with the hose that goes to the wastegate actuator. Doing this will send a full signal to the actuator forcing the wastegate open most of the time.
