Hello Saab people
I recently picked up a 2001 Viggen Convertible with 80k miles on it for only $8,500 from an auction broker. No test-drive.. bought it blind. Of course the rims were bent, so I did some research and went for 17" ASA AR1 with General Tire Altimax HP. $1,000 shipped from TireRack. This created a HUGE improvement in eliminating the tendency to scramble all over the road under acceleration, and cut down on road noise and made the ride feel more luxurious, like the 2006 9-3 that I had. Also installed Nick's 22mm ARB and steering rack brace. Do you guys think the 6-point sub-frame brace is necessary? What entry-level performance mod would offer good bang for my buck? 3" downpipe?
Also, I discovered a windscreen from Windblokker.com for only $50, and it seems to be of decent construction. I was able to get the plastic grommets, a.k.a. "mounting kit", from the local Saab dealership for $23. So, in total, much cheaper than from StateOfNine or the dealer. I'll update on the outcome when I have a chance to run with the top down.

If you are interested in taking the old Viggen rims, check out these:

Best!
