Well, you would know more than me about how much they emphasis on telling the customer when they buy a brand new car that they have to come back within a year at least for an oil change.
Jiffy lube stand by their 3 month/3K mile intervals. My basic recommendation is 6 month/5K miles and with the 9-3 Sport Sedan 1 year/10K miles.
I don't know if car manufacturers have it written down that at least it has to be done ones a year. I think the only thing we have heard about it is with the Sport Sedan where they to begin with stated at least every 2 years and then lowered it to 1 year or earlier if the oil monitor told them so.
I have mentioned it before that one drawback with the long oil change intervals is that customers run the car into the ground with other problems since nothing gets checked up on a regular basis.
The 9-3 SS many times have only about 20 PSI in the tires when they come in a year later and it is also tougher to gauge when they will run out of brakes since some customers go from 60-70% remaining to 0% in 10K miles.
