The stock Saab amp for the door speakers is/was small amp that installs behind the passenger side center console kick panel. The wires you see in your door go to there. In the OEM case, the door speakers are woofers and that Saab amp has the cross-over set to send only the bass to the door speakers. If you can find and put in the Saab amp, you would follow the same approach.
Others have just put full range speakers in the doors and drive them using a small full-range amp. I found one a few years ago (an MTX 2021, I think) that was able to fit behind the kick panel with a little makeshift bracket. Others install an amp under the passenger seat.
If you go the route of an aftermarket full-range amp, you will need to tie in to the head unit for signal and run a power line in from the battery. Check out the link to Richard Bevan's Saab Audio Guide for the details. I followed these instruction and it was not too hard if you are reasonably handy with a soldering iron.
