Sludge is not always an issue of poor maintaince on your part, it can be an issue of poor design on SAAB's part. What you're describing happened to me when I started my car under VERY VERY cold conditions (-4F) this winter about two weeks before I was diagnosed with a serious sludge issue. I figured it was the cold till it happened again after a long drive. I was running full synthetic at recomended intervals too FWIW.
My advice is to stop driving the car until you've had a chance to investigate. Good Luck!
