If you're talking about that gray knob looking thing, that is your tie rod end. It does look crooked in an odd kind of way especially compared to the section with the bolt, but it appears to be an aftermarket one so I don't know if it's designed in that offset angle.
It is sitting crooked to the joint with the strut though. It may have just shifted when you hit the hole, or their may be more significant damage. If you're not familiar with suspension work you need to take it to a shop to have a look see. If the pothole hit was bad enough to shift the end that way, you may have other damage.
If it's just the tie rod end that has shifted, all it takes is to loosen that pinch bolt, and turn it a little to straighten it out then retighten the pinch bolt - but of course you may want to check the alignment after that. Better yet, if you hit the hole hard enough for that, you probably should check the alignment anyway. The shop will probably let you know if you have damage beyond the tie rod.
If you're handy, you can get a new tie rod end for about $15 - $50ish depending on where and what brand. But you still have to get it aligned after you change it, which most people don't have the equipment to do at home.
Changing it just takes taking the nut off, popping the ball joint off, loosening the pinch bolt, and unscrewing the old one off (counting how many turns it takes) then reverse for install.
You can ask whatever alignment shop how much they'd charge to swap the end as part of the service, but you may find that it might be cheaper for you to do the swap, then take it in for the alignment - especially since they'll probably take a markup on the part plus the extra labor for the swap.
