My heater hose repair story, it's funny.

I had a heater hose blow on Friday, and of course it was the large diameter molded hose that connects to the end of the cylinder head. I don't have the money right now to replace the hose set, so I was going to try replacing the large diameter section that blew and just adapt down to the small diameter for now. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a hose large enough to make that work. To top it off, my old Volvo isn't running right (fuel pump problems) so I can't trust it to drive all the way to school and back. So, I got out the needle and thread, sewed the hole in the hose shut for strength, coated the inside over the stitches and most of the outside with RTV silicone, wrapped the hose up with cloth athletic tape, smeared on another layer of RTV, and put it back on the car after a few hours of drying. It's now holding strong with no leaks. As long as it hold for a couple weeks until I can afford a new hose set, I'll be fine.
