I took an overseas job assignment in Copenhagen for 18 months so I know what your going thru. I ended up selling two 9000's each with about 130,000 miles. I also had an Oldsmobile Intrigue that was a year old at the time. I stored the Oldsmobile at a friend's house and had them drive it periodically. I just added Stabil to a full tank of gas. The fact that the car would still be under warranty when I returned was a factor in my decision.
Some things to consider:
Is there a possibility that mice could have access to the car? The only problem the Olds had was a mouse chewed wire that caused stalling until it got sorted out. They do also like to nest in air filter housings, seats, etc.
Will the car be insured while your away? I live in New Jersey the land of high car insurance but I kept the insurance policy. New policy holders pay a premium.
If you elect to store the car I would make arrangements to have someone you trust drive it periodically. I considered putting the Olds on stands but wanted it to be driven. It will help keep seals lubricated, etc. The reality is that 27 months is long time.
Just some thoughts for you to consider. Your call.
Good Luck!
