Clutch Release Bearing -- GREEN Rubber Sleeve

I run a '97 SAAB 900 SE-T. I have had a string of hassles with the clutch release bearing. Finally decided to bite the bullet and have
a good mechanic go in and install a clutch kit. A good friend gave me a
nearly brand new clutch kit and flywheel to ease the pain. Noticed
the clutch release bearing comes in some sort of "assembly" that has a
green rubber sleever over a large spring. I notice there is a very
small cut in the sleeve up near where the clutch release bearing sits.
I don't know whether this cut is serious and I should pitch the sleeve
and get a new one....I am assuming the sleeve is a dust cover.
Don't know if the sleeve is a separate part I could purchase.
Don't know what it would cost.
If you can help me figure out what to do about the sleeve, I would appreciate it. I sure don't want to set myself up for another
bearing failure near term.
Thanks,
Frank
