Try to identify the source of the "centrifugal force". What we feel as centrifugal force comes from the following: When you turn your steering wheel you are producing an acceleration as acceleration is a change in velocity and velocity has both an amount and a direction (its a vector). So a change in direction is an acceleration, even if you don't change speed. Your body has inertia, if it is in motion, it will attempt to travel in a straight line along its direction of motion. When you turn the steering wheel, your body (and the car) will attempt to travel in a straight line but friction between the seat, the seat belt, etc. will pull your body around the turn with the car. These supply the centripetal force, which is the force that causes the change in direction. For the car. the centripetal force is the friction of the tires against the road. What you feel as "centrifugal" force is merely the equal and opposite reaction to the centripetal forces acting on you. If you go back to my first statement, you cannot identify a source for the "centrifugal" force! What is the origin of the "force" that is pushing you away from the center of the turn?
