I was hoping to use a simpler method, like draining the radiator, adding distilled water to it ( through the expansion tank), getting it up to operating temperature and then letting it cool and draining again...

getting it back to operating temp, draining one more time, and then start adding the coolant..

Now I get differing information on the type of coolant used in the car.
It is a 2001 convertible....

The coolant was blue----

Is this the G05 stuff or is it the dexcool??

I called Valvoline and they state that the car mfrs dye their coolant in order to confuse customers and keep them dealer dependent...
