I've done the multiple drain/fill method and it's a pain. Maybe most important, there's a lot more coolant than I expected left behind when you drain.

I removed the thermostat (so it didn't have to get to operating temperature). Drain - fill - run 2 minutes - repeat repeat repeat.

It took about 6 or 8 drain/fill cycles before there was no more color draining out. Final fill volume vs. published capacity seemed like there was a large fraction of a liter that doesn't drain out.
