I just replaced the lower control arms in my 1995 900S last week. The ball-joint is part of the lower-control arm and is not available separately, Perhaps you saw a listing for a 1994 900 convertible? That was still the C900 body style which was altogether different.
I went with the $160 Febi-Bilstein arms, but for a 1994 I would go with the $140 Scan-Techs as Aaron M. suggests. They changed the control arms early in 1995 (mine is a late 1995), and different aftermarket arms are available for your car as opposed to mine.
The only components that can be replaced on the control arm is the rubber boot that goes over the ball-joint and the stanchion arm bushing. If your ball-joints are shot, you've got to get new control arms. Figure $280 for the arms plus the labor if you're having a shop do it.
