9-5 bumper will NOT fit. (I have a 9-5 and a 9-3). The 9-5 is several inches wider and bumper of a different shape. I have a 2000 9-3 SE that has never been in an accident. It has GM stamped on the trunk latch piece as well, you probably never noticed it before the incident as these are parts we do not normally pay much attention to. It also has some plastic parts and seems lighter and less rigid than the one on my old 1994 900SE which was all metal and no GM marking on it. These parts are plated carbon steel and plastic which can have a different hue depending on suppliers and production runs, I would not worry about that.

If trunk is rattling or is loose or not closing properly, they need to fix it. Other than what you mentioned, what is wrong with the repairs?
