Did the left side only on my 99 9-3.
two weeks later, the right side started to make noise... :{
When I did the left, ball joint was still tight - though I did replace the sway bar link and tie rod end.
You should also check all bushings in the control arm (unless you're replacing the arms anyway), the sway bar bushings, etc.
The fact that you recently did the rotors at least will make it easy for the rotors to come off (which needs to be done to get to the bearings). I had to pound on mine because it was seized from the years and rust.
If you're having someone else do the work, it's not going to SAVE you money to do both at the same time. The other side may last thousands or tens of thousands of miles more. This was he first time I had both go in such a short time from each other.
