The AC is linked to several sensors; including the coolant temperature sensor, AC pressure sensor, AC compressor temperature sensor, etc. A bad sensor will keep the AC from working.
At the start of this summer, I had a faulty AC compressor temperature sensor keep my AC from working. Once the sensor was replaced the AC worked fine. With something like this it may take a experienced SAAB shop to trouble shot which sensor is the real problem.
