When I first got my 900, the front end had been rebuilt. The body shop apparently didn't know what it was and left it dangling over my big pipe. (I'm still finding remnants of shoddy guess work)

I didn't "know" where it goes - but I knew the heat generated was causing problems, so mounted on the inner bumper inside the grill area - far from engine compartment heat sources, but open to outside air... seemed to make sense, though I never found the original mounting holes.

The wire locations/path will make zero difference to your plight, it's only a voltage signal being sent trough them.

You'll find the ACC will work much better if it knows how hot it is outside - combined with cabin air, sun sensor on you dashboard, and some other ambient air sensor inside the car (thik it's in the ducts)
