I began using Mobil 1 0W-40 before Mobil 1 came out with the "high Mileage" line of oils which includes the 10W-30 and 10W-40. All three of these Mobil 1 oils meet the ACEA A3/B3 rating, which means they are more durable and have better additive packages than either an ACEA A1/A5 oil or a non-ACEA-rated oil (including some other Mobil 1 oils like 5W-30).
I found that the Mobil 0W-40, which I continue to use, results in a slightly quieter engine and provides a stronger, more wear resistant, oil film on the moving engine parts. I have not noticed any drawbacks to using the Mobil 1 0W-40 oil.
