I don't have a t25 anymore, I have a t25 that was built up to be larger than a TD04hl-18T. I didn't spend $2k on the tune, I spent $2k on a turbocharger, injectors, intercooler, related hoses, and the tune. I wanted a bigger turbo than a t25, because this car has had two fail. I got the car with it's original turbo seized, and replaced it with a salvage unit which self destructed about a year later. I was already running a stage 3 tune, and after talking to Jak about a bigger turbo I decided my best options were to risk killing another t25 or go big and do it right. I decided Jak had the best turbo for the money, and I took his advice about the stage 5 tune to have the turbo and engine running properly together. Now, I'm no fool, although I feel like I'm being treated as such. I understand that I can exceed 400ft.lbs. of torque on pump gas, and ethanol had nothing to do with power goal I had set for my car, nor was I actually ready to invest in that goal. I was just put into a position where I needed to buy a turbo now, and I didn't want to make that purchase two more times. My actual goal was to get somewhere in the range of 320-340hp, and about the same torque, but I wanted to run on ethanol. I wanted ethanol capability because I'm a fan of the fuel, and I've been running e50 for quite some time. Jak's normal stage 5 tune makes about 340hp and 350'#, but he said that ethanol would drastically increase those numbers. Now, why in the world would I say "no Jak, that's way too much power, you should tune that down for me." I'll take as much f'n power as I'm paying for, and I'll have fun with it. If that means I have to back off the pedal a bit when that big*** turbo hits full boost, I can do that. I understand that these transmissions aren't that tough, but I'm not in the habit of leaving any more rubber on the road than what comes off naturally. Like I said, I know how to drive. That means I know how to feel and read any vehicle I happen to be driving, especially the one I drive every day. I also know how to shift so I don't shock my transmission. I'm not some boy racer that just put a rattle can on his Neon, so please don't treat me like I am.
