Saw on another thread, the only difference b/w 2.0 & 2.3 turbo is the crank. True? If so, would it be advantageous to upgrade while motor is out?
There aren't many shops around here that will even service a saab, much less know much about em. The one who diagnosed the tranny issue is unsure if crank of 2.0T is drilled to accept manual gearbox.
This is my third saab, with the luxury of 2 cars I would like to take the opportunity to put a sweet ride together while doing most of the work myself. Still need to have one to drive while the project progresses.
97 900S needs new suspension and 96 SE "transmission issue"- don't know for sure yet- are the only known major problems. The 96 was reported to run well, shift through all gears but lacked power. A recent turbo replacement done, by as I said, someone not too familiar with the brand and hesitant to even work on it.
With what I've got and the known issues what would you suggest. May just end up partin' one for the other.
