Hi,
I have been having some issues with my 2001 93 convertible that I am hoping to get some advice on. About a month ago, the CEL and TCS light came on and the car went into limp home mode. Did some research on there, reset the throttle body, cleared the code, and the wife told me she'd lost the gas cap and was driving without one. We got a generic gas cap and continued. The car had a 1/4 tank of gas. Things got busy, and the car seemed to be running well, so I pressed ahead. Last week, the same thing happened...again with a 1/4 tank of gas. We got a Saab gas cap and a new Saab battery since it the wasn't doing a good job holding a charge. Again, I reset the code and TB, and drove home. Now a week later, a third time, but with 3/4 a tank of gas. This time now the four windows do not work. Checked the fuse on the side of the driver door and it is fine. Research on here seems to continuously point to a bad throttle body.

A couple questions...
1) Is there a way to check out the TB instead of spending $450 on a new TB? If it is bad, wouldn't it be bad all the time, and not with about 3 weeks between the 1st and 2nd and 1 week between the 2nd and 3rd?
(the code research keeps pointing to a bad throttle body)

2) Is replace the TB a DIY job? I'm pretty good fixing/working on the car, but don't have too many 'special' tools.

3) Are the two 1/4 tank of gas times related to the P1230 code? Is the window issue related?

Thanks guys!
