yeah, it is a pain. If you have cloth seats it is easier to take them off but I also think they make it easier for a break to occur. I think the Platonoff site has instructions to get the cover off and on. The hard part is getting the connectors from the cover to the seat foam off. But if you can see where the failure is or work around it then it is an easy enough fix.
I found that using the strips of solder that you can melt with a match is the best bet for a good connection. The wire is so frail that you can end up losing more and more wire stripping the insulator off to get enough wire to make a good connection.
It is doable though. If you have the time you will thank yourself when it gets colder. Especially if you have leather seats.
