I have a 1996 900SE Turbo and I am on the last step of installing a Viggen clutch kit. Now here is the debated part of many people...
Some Saabers say use only MTF 0063 as it would be an upgrade to my trans, some say Redline MTL (MT90?) is better. Some have started to use Royal Purple MTL.
In my hicktown area the local Saab shop won't sell me MTF 0063, I can't find Redline MTL at any other shop, and the only thing I can find is Pennzoil Syncromesh, Motorcraft 75W90 Synethetic GL5, and SuperSyn 75W90 Synthetic GL5.
I can get Redline through a shop down the road ordering it for me, but I would like some personal opinions and input. I would really feel more comfortable using the MTF 0063, but am still interested in Redline.
Now to the flush... Some say it's ok to use motor oil to do the first 2 flushes then fill with the MTF (this seems wrong to me), but others say to only flush with the MTF the first two times then fill the last time (this seems right, but much more expensive).
All input is appreciated, thank you.
