By the way, when checking my stock electric antenna per the tsb, I believe I found that the antenna itself was not grounded well so I took apart the hard rubber support surrounding the area where the antenna cable plugs in and the connection there seems flimsy to me. I ended up just sticking on a $10 aftermarket, still static though. Another interesting tidbit: if I disconnect the IAC, engine running and radio on, the static goes away. That's why I tried the interference suppression kit in section C2.2 but it didn't help at all. Battle goes on.
