I installed my steering rack brace long before my other performance upgrades. In my '97 900SEt (manual) I had significant torque steer with stock power, and the brace eliminated that. Whether you drive the car daily or not makes no difference in how well you want it to perform, but I get the impression you aren't the average car owner so I say go for it. The braces will offer a more precise steering feel and stiffen the front end to eliminate lateral flex, but they will not cause the suspension to feel more firm in terms of how you feel bumps in the road. Also, they are not very expensive, and are simple installations for a do-it-yourselfer with average compentency.
