I also wonder how the ECU adapts to different uses. I've found the characteristics of the car can change a lot.
After a track day last July the torque curve was MUCH flatter than before and it took several days to get back to "normal." It had less low-end punch, but lots more go at 3000 to 5500. But that was after 80-90 on-track miles with many full-throttle exits from turns, a couple hills per lap, etc.
Interesting stuff.
