I went for the base 1999. I was advised to stay away from the 2000- because the drive by wire can get pricey if it bonks. When I was shopping the SEs' were $2500-3000. I found a base that was squirting coolant out of the head gasket by headbolt #10 and the manual heater box had the gummy grease. Since I like the DIY stuff, at $1000 I have a lot of headroom to SEize the car. It came with leather seats and steering wheel. It was a Pennsylvania car early on and has seat heaters-I agree Nicole that even in NoCAl they are nice on a winter morning. The wood dash was $15 at Pick-n-pull. Volvo/Saab Dismantlers in Sacramento provided the HOT intercooler and a set of 16" wheels with good rubber. P-n-P came thru again with the amp for the door speakers( a must have) and rear Koni shocks. Still to come is the 40 ponies from A GS stage 1 and I wish Wasyl would get my CD changer back. He's had it since February.
