Was the flush just routine, or were you having a problem?
My understanding is that for Saabs, you REALLY should blench bleed the master before installation or there's a part of the master that will many times hold a bubble that never gets expunged in the installed position.
That "new" master is 15 (probably more) years old. The seals were probably on the way out if it wasn't before (unless you rebuilt/replaced plunger seals, etc before install). That plus, with that many years, you probably had a "ridge" worn in the cylinder that didn't take kindly to the seals traveling where it hasn't traveled in years.
I've tried used MCs on various cars in my DIY life (especially in my HS days when you tried anything that was free even if it meant you'd have to do it over), and at best, they've lasted only a few months and many times they were just as bad as what was there to begin with. The only time used ever worked out for me (in MCs) is when all I needed was the reservoir...
