1. Exhaust note: hard to answer your question but it shouldn't be excessively loud. The flex pipe on these cars typically goes at this mileage so I would check the car for an exhaust lek.
2. Yes, normal.
3. Depends on the service history for the car. When was the last time the oil was changed, coolant flushed, etc......
4. You can't check for sludge in the dipstick hole. Next time you change the oil you should put a popsicle stick or wire in the drain hole to see if there's a sludge problem. If the previous owner used conventional motor oil vice synthetic it's more likely you'll find sludge. If the sludge problem is bad the oil pan should be dropped and cleaned out and the overall sludge problem assessed. Obviously it would have been better to check this out before you bought the car. I highly suggest using synthetic oil. The new Mobil-1 high mileage 10W-30 of 10W-40 would be a good choice if this car has used nothing but conventional oil its whole life.
