I haven't been able to prevent the fluid from dripping like you said. Just have to be quick to minimize it. I've used a Motive pressure bleeder to push fluid into the slave cylinder. The couple bubbles that get into the bleed-fitting, just get pushed up to the reservoir without any problem.
Brake fluid gets corrosive so I usually rinse it off with water after finishing. Before doing that, smear a fillet of grease around the threads of the bleed screws (same on the brake calipers).
