This is another possibility per trouble shooting guide linked below. Could be stuck open by foreign material, which should also appear at fine screen at bottom of exit tube in cut open receiver/drier. An aftermarket inline filter using an orifice tube can be added to 1/2-inch line from receiver/drier to expansion valve as extra protection for valve and compressor. If not under warranty or needed for a core, it might be helpful to disassemble failed compressor and look for debris and amount of oil. 70mL is called for in compressor in WIS. Too bad they don't make compressors with a sight glass like on receiver/drier, so that oil level can be checked without opening system, before they burn up.
