If there are grinding sounds the gears could be out of alignment. The fix is a bunch of zip ties or some hose clamps to tighten the motor to the armature.
These parts can get expensive and hard to find.
Get a warranty of some sort if you get a used one. And do the zip tie/hose clamp trick before installing and should last longer.
