Yes, you can replace just the bearing in the pulley. There are several threads here that give the procedure and a contact name and tel# for the bearing. Do a search.

I replaced the bearing in my pulley 5000 km ago. The bearing cost $30, compared to the >$1000 quoted by my mechanic for a new compressor. The procedure is not difficult, although you may need to borrow/rent a gear puller and find someone with a press to put in the new bearing.
