Two observations in my far less tired state this morning:
1) There is a significant difference in the a/c lines I replaced versus the old ones. My old lines did not include the small, metallic 'canister' that sits atop the flexible rubber hose and protrudes upward towards the hood. My replacement part, however, is inclusive of this part. My question is, what is this part and would this be causing any issues with my system?
For reference, here's the 'new' part: http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/PartDetail.aspx?id=5046354
2) With the compressor again briefly 'jumped' this morning so the clutch engages, I reached down and felt the a/c lines underneath the radiator. One line was very cold, whereas one line was definitely not cold. From a routing standpoint, these are the lines that go in/out of the compressor. Does this shed any insight into what my issue might be?
