I just replaced my drivers side door speaker on Tuesday. Very easy. Just the two screws at the bottom, 2 inside the door pull, then one at the door lever... I actually didn't bother removing the door lever screw, as it can be a pain getting the lever lined up properly to function. Laying down, I was able to swap the speaker but pulling everything but that one screw.
The speaker itself is held with 3 screws and a plug in the back.
For speakers, for $45 you can get a "used" door speaker from goldwing. No need to worry about balancing of sound. The only reason to switch speakers, I would say is if you are going for a total upgrade in sound. To me, the stock SE speaker system sounds pretty good, thus I went the used route.
Also, since I have gone through this before with my old 9-3, I know Goldwing stands behind their products. They sent me one bad speaker, I called, and got a new one within 2 days.
Good luck, and call Goldwing saab.
