Hi John,

I don't know if the engines are similar enough to transfer across (though I suspect that the 97 was the start of the OG93 series of which the 99 is a member of).
The best advice I can give you to see if the electrical is compatible between the two years, is search on engine electrical parts on eEuro's site, putting in the Year and engine type into the search parameters.

Print out the two years ('97 and '99) and do a side by side comparison to see if the parts are identical. Ditto for the mechanical engine parts. If all the parts match up (and I have no reason to suspect they will be much different), then you should be good to go.

(Or if you have the Electronics Parts Catalog, do your own search there).

Or contact eEuro directly or saabsite. Either of them may know. And remember if you don't see a part listed that you need, they can special order it for you.
