I have a 99 9-3 with manual transmission. When I turn the ignition, the dashboard lights come on but the starter does not run. No engine trouble, just no crank to get the engine going. Before this happened, everything was running fine. I have read some posts about intermittent problems of this nature (waiting 30 minutes and then it works etc.) but this is different because it has been not starting for weeks now. There is no "key recognition error" and the 10 amp fuse in position 36 is not blown. I have checked the voltage at the + battery terminal (12.3V) and at the power terminal on the starter (12.3V). Also checked the resistance on the cables, which was very low. So, I assumed it was the solenoid or starter. I replaced the starter today, double checking that everything was clean and tightly connected. I turned the key and got dashboard lights, but still no crank. I switched the starter and ignition switch relays with equivalent ones from the panel to no avail. I checked the voltage at the yellow wire on the solenoid and there is nothing (with or without key in the starting position). As far as I can tell, that leaves the ignition switch or TWICE as the culprits. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mike
