So let me ask another question - I too have had a hood strut go bad on my '01 9-3 turbo. I purchased a replacement strut at Auto Zone - was told it was strong enough to lift the hood alone - without the other strut. Didn't work. In fact it didn't even hold the hood up when I re-installed the other good strut (so total of two). Do I understand that I can buy the single strut from eEuroparts and that will, by itself, work?
TIA
