Brakes not working as they should

Hi Guys,
I do have a problem with my 1996 900S convertible that has been discussed here quite a few times, unfortunately people have not posted a follow up so I do not know what the solution was.
Here is the problem:
The brakes have been kind of mushy since I owned the car. So I went ahead and changed the rear calipers and replaced all the pads which I bought from thesaabsite. The rotors were done at a shop and have seen about 30k miles, no grooves. Obviously I bleeded the brake system after replacing the rear calipers using a pressure bleeder. Still the brakes are kind of mushy, I can press the pedal all the way down to the floor and ABS barely kicks in. The brake pedal returns to the upright position.
So, do I still have air in the system the the previous owner introduced or do I have a faulty master cylinder? I have read a lot here on the board that the air in the master cylinder is difficult to get out. The springs on the front calipers are installed correctly
Any suggestions what else to check or do?
Can I pressure bleed the system again and additionally also operate the brake pedal to get potential air bubbles out?
Thanks a lot for your help guys
Markus
