Thanks for all the posts. The work is complete. Regarding the O ring comments, when I removed the old pump the short metal pipe stayed in the block, so not knowing it too would come out, I did not replace that o ring. Only replaced the o ring I could see. After installing the metal turbo intake and clamp, I noted that the clamp's tightening screw made contact with one of the turbo's metal water cooling lines, I needed to coax the two apart. I'd say for a first timer I have 8 hours into replacing the pump, hoses, thermostat, belt, idle pully and tensioner. The reason I for the replacement was largely preventative. The car is a 2002 with 160k miles. The belt was last done at 85k. The water pump hoses and such were replaced thinking they would not last through the next belt replacement cycle (60k miles or so). So while I had the car in the garage and time, I thought I would get it all done rather that wait till I had to. Again, thanks for all who commented.
