I have the turbo 4 not the v-6, but I was able to diagnose my EVAP valve issue by clamping off the line (technically not a vacuum line, but behaves like one) close to the throttle body... clamped off the engine ran fine. Replaced the line, no real change so I replaced the valve and that fixed the problem.
Long story short, clamping off the line is a quick & easy test.
