The first 3 timing belts on a 95 900 V-6 (35,000 65,000 and 95,000 mile) are covered by SAAB. You can have a SAAB dealership run a DCS to check if any timing belts have been replaced under warranty.
Heres the warranty info about the timing belts. Note: there was a major update to pulleys and belt.

Subject: Timing Belt Replacements, 1994-1996 900 and 9000 with V6 engines

The maintenance schedule for 1994-1996 900 and 9000 models with V6 engines required timing belt replacement at 35,000, 65,000, and 95,000 mile services and on 1997 models at 65,000 miles, reimbursed as warranty by Saab. 1997 models received an improved belt and tensioner with increased durability/reliability which required less frequent replacement.

The early style timing belt, p/n 4621348, has been discontinued and replaced by a kit p/n 4773842 which includes the improved belt, tensioner and replacement bolts for the new tensioner. Dealers were previously instructed to return all early style belts in their inventory to Saab for credit (see parts reference PTS-00-041, 9/11/00).

Warranty will cover the replacement of the belt and tensioner (p/n 4773842) when a 35,000, 65,000, or 95,000 mile service is performed on a 1994-1996 900 or 9000 V6. The early style timing belt, p/n 4721348, must NOT be used. Refer to the Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual, section 5, page 35 for claiming instructions.

The complete kit, p/n 4773842, is required only once. Subsequent services should require only that the belt, p/n 4770491, be replaced. The later style, spring loaded, tensioner can be identified by the belt centering guides that have been added to the tensioner wheel.

You can call SAAB of Oceanside (formerly Continental Motors) with the last 8 digits of your VIN and they will let you know if anything has been replaced under warranty by a dealership. 760-722-1868
