I guess you mean the lock cylinder or lock tumbler?
Since you have had problems for awhile it might be a little piece of the many lock gates that has worn and gotten lodged the wrong way.
It is also a chance that another part that sits between the lock tumbler and ignition switch has broken. That piece is part of the feature where you cannot turn to cranking, over and over again, but has to return to ignition off before being able to crank over again.
If it is the lock tumbler, any tumbler with matching keys for 94-2003 900, 9-3 and 9-5 plus all 9000 will do.
The other pieces are part of the housing that holds the lock tumbler above and ignition switch below.
So you need to find a way to extract the lock tumbler to see where the problem lies.
That is a little bit trickier if you cannot turn the key.
