If you got the radio out 2" then you don't need the radio removal tool anymore. The radio is far enough out that the tabs that hold the radio in place are no longer in contact with the radio. Something else is holding it in.

My first thought is your hitting the wiper stalk and you need to push it up out of the way (into intermittent). If your not hitting the wiper stalk the stereo cables behind the radio is getting hung up on something. You could just try moving it in and out a couple times to see if it frees it up.
