Hi,
I've got a recurring evap problem in my 2001 9-3 SE. The code is PO455 (gross leak). My mechanic has looked at the problem a few times now and here's what he thinks: The code is caused by the evap canister valve not functioning when the system is supposed to test it. Using the TechII he can test the valve and it works fine. For some reason the ECU would refuse to tell the valve to open(?) and that's why the test fails.
Does this make sense and has anyone experienced something like this?
Appreciating all input, I need to get this California car smogged in 30 days.
