NG900 Non-Turbo No Start

Did a lot of searching and have yet to come up with any concrete answers.
I've got a 1995 900S non-turbo 'vert that up and quit on me after I went over a rather large frost heave (dip) in the road. Had it towed home and assumed it was the fuel pump. Tested for voltage at the pump and there was none- not when the key is turned on to prime, or when the engine is cranking. Hot wired the fuel pump at the fuse box so that I runs when the key is on (and when it's cranking) and still no start. I can hear the fuel pump running, and it sounds just fine. Here's where it gets interesting- I took the intake off the top of the throttle body and sprayed some starting fluid down its gullet and lo and behold it started up immediately and ran for 30 seconds (on the starting fluid) and then quit once that was exhausted- so there's spark and compression. Oh, and the injectors aren't firing (no voltage while cranking over the engine).
What would cause no power to the fuel pump and no pulse to the injectors? I know on my old c900 that had a similar problem it was the "hall effect" sensor on the distributor. Does the NG900 N/A have something similar? Could it be the CPS? Is there an easy way to test any of this?
