New to the NG platform. I picked up a 2.3 motor what is supposed to be a low mileage motor. I have been reading the board and understand that there saab made the 2.3 motor is several forms early 9000, late 9000/9-3 and the turbos in those plateforms. My question is how do I identify which engine I have? Also, I am in the process of pulling the pan and cleaning oil residue and the pick up screen. The pan was sealed with silicone. Isn't an anaerobic sealer supposed to be used? This stuff was all over the place. I've heard of loose silicone causing engine problems. Any idea of where to look for any silicone debri?
I'm adding images of the motor
I was able to pull up video of a 9000 and my engine has the same intake as the 9000. I am assuming that the 9.3 had a similiar intake to the 2.0 NG900?
How do I tell if it is the shorter motor that will fit into a 9.3 and if it is a Turbo motor?
