Convert roof misaligned in bag area - hits edge

9-3 convertible.
The edge of my folded roof on this recently purchased 9-3 convertible is too close to one side of the storage area. It catches on the edge of the compartment/seal when the roof is raised out of the bag to close it. It's bad enough that it has worn a hole through the edge. See the photo below of the roof coming up to be closed.

Can the roof be moved within the bag area so that it's more to one side or the other? There is more space on the other side, about 1/2" of clearance between the folded roof and the edge. If the space was evenly distributed at 1/4" per side that would allow it to work.
I see that there are six thin spacers on each side where the roof is bolted to the chassis. Should I pull some out to change the angle? Or can the entire mechanism be moved to one side a smidge by loosening the mounts and just pulling it over a little? Will this mess with the window and closing alignment?
